RC's Diakite Selected Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Rollins junior forward Dave Diakite has been selected Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending January 29.
Diakite (Washington, D.C.) notched two double-doubles to lead the Tars to a pair of conference wins. Diakite averaged 15.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 block per contest. He opened the week with a game-high 19 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, and an assist in a 65-56 win over Nova Southeastern. He then collected 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists to lead the Tars to a 76-71 victory at Florida Southern. The win was Rollins’ first at Jenkins Field House since 2007 and put the Tars atop the league standings.
