Jensen and O'Shea Named NCBWA Region Players of the Week

Once again, the SSC's Baseball Players of the Week were also the South Region Players of the Week, as recognized by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Florida Southern's Cory Jensen and Tampa's Ben O'Shea were announced as winners on Wednesday.
A senior second baseman, Jensen was tabbed Region Hitter of the Week. He led the Moccasins to an SSC series win against No. 7 Nova Southeastern, batting .889 with three runs and three RBI. Jensen recorded a hit in eight of his nine at-bats, notching an impressive .923 on-base percentage. He had multiple hits in all three games of the series, including a pair of three-hit performances. He had a double in the first two games of the weekend en route to a 1.111 slugging percentage.
A junior, O'Shea earned the win in a 5-0 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic. In seven innings, O'Shea permitted just three hits with no walks. He struck out seven Sailfish batters.
