Boza and Bierman Grab Top ABCA All-Region Honors

Another Division II all-region baseball team has been announced, and once again, Lynn’s Anthony Boza has been named Player of the Year, and Tampa’s Sean Bierman has been tabbed Pitcher of the Year. The latest announcement came from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
In total, 17 SSC student-athletes were named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region Team. Joining DH Boza and Bierman as first-team selections were: 1B Ryan McChesney (Florida Tech), 2B Carlos Asuaje (Nova Southeastern), 3B Mike Snyder (Florida Southern), OF Areo Regoli (Nova Southeastern), OF Andrew Jones (Tampa), P Ben O’Shea (Tampa), P Shawn Kale (Lynn), and RP James Mannara (Florida Tech).
Earning second-team recognition were: SS K.C. Clabough (Florida Tech), INF Cory Jensen (Florida Southern), OF Zach Gawrych (Tampa), OF Brendan Collins (Saint Leo), OF Austin Smith (Lynn), P Zach Westcott (Nova Southeastern), and P Joey Cuda (Eckerd).
The ABCA also announced the members of its 2012 Gold Glove Team. Named to that list were: Asuaje, Jones, Cuda, 1B Javi Sujo (Nova Southeastern), 3B Damon Elder (Tampa), SS Kyle Radziewski (Lynn), and OF J.J. Downum (Florida Southern).
