369 SSC Student-Athletes Receive D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards

A total of 369 Sunshine State Conference student-athletes were recipients of the Division II Athletics Directors Association's Academic Achievement Awards.
Nearly 4,500 student-athletes representing 118 NCAA Division II institutions received 2011-12 D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards.
In order to receive the award, a student-athlete must attend an institution whose athletics director is a current dues paying member of the D2ADA. The student must also have a cumulative grade point avearge of 3.5 or higher, have completed a minimum of two years of college level work, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
Seven SSC schools were among those with student-athletes recognized for the award. Following is a list of the number of student-athletes recognized from each institution:
Barry - 45,
Florida Southern - 52,
Lynn - 58,
Nova Southeastern - 44,
Rollins - 60,
Saint Leo - 63, and
Tampa - 47.
