Tampa's Clark and Florida Southern's Durham Tabbed Volleyball Players of the Week
Tampa's Erin Clark and Florida Southern's Danielle Durham have been named Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the period ending October 28.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Tampa senior outside hitter Erin Clark (Tampa, Fla.) led the top-ranked Spartans to another undefeated week, averaging 4.6 kills while hitting at a sizzling .542 clip. Clark led Tampa in kills in three matches, notching nine kills while playing sparingly in a sweep against Rollins. She continued the week by blasting 26 kills against Florida Tech and notching 11 kills in a sweep against Nova Southeastern. Clark didn’t hit below .525 in any of the matches.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Florida Southern junior outside hitter Danielle Durham (Venice, Fla.) had a solid all-around week in leading the No. 11 Moccasins to a pair of SSC wins. She recorded 23 digs in a five-game victory over Florida Tech, also tallying 16 kills in the contest. In a four-game win versus Eckerd, she posted 18 digs and four blocks, as well as 11 kills. Durham concluded the week with an average of 4.6 digs per frame, helping FSC limit its opponents to a .155 attack percentage.
