Tampa's Black and NSU's Coenraad Chosen Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Tampa's Jeremy Black and Nova Southeastern's Tim Coenraad have been chosen Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Players of the Week for the period ending November 25.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Tampa senior forward Jeremy Black (Tampa, Fla) led the Spartans to a pair of wins, averaging 27.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.0 block, and 0.5 steals per game.  Black made a sizzling 89 percent (16-for-18) of his field goal attempts en route to a pair of double-double performances.  In a 92-81 win over South Region opponent Valdosta State, he tallied 30 points, 16 rebounds, a block, and a steal.  In an 88-79 victory versus P.R.-Bayamon, he recorded 25 points, 10 rebounds, and a block.  Black shot 72 percent (15-of-19) from the free throw line in the contests.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Nova Southeastern junior guard/forward Tim Coenraad (Brisbane, Australia) led the Sharks to a pair of regional road wins, averaging 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.  In a 73-61 win at West Florida, he notched 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.  In an 84-66 victory against Palm Beach Atlantic, Coenraad registered 21 points, seven boards, four assists, a block, and a steal.  In two games, he shot 50 percent (12-for-24) from the field, 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from three-point range, and 100 percent (9-of-9) at the line.
