Lynn and Nova Southeastern Featured in NCAA Division II Videos

Two SSC member institutions, Lynn University and Nova Southeastern University, are featured in newly-released NCAA Division II community engagement videos.

The video that features Lynn centers around the student-athletes' efforts to raise money to grant a wish for a 12-year-old boy through the South Florida chapter of Make-A-Wish's "Wishmakers on Campus" program.  Fighting Knight athletes raised $5,000 to allow Gabe Kagan, who was diagnosed with liver cancer, an opportunity to meet New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington.  To watch the video featuring LU student-athletes and administrators, click here.

Nova Southeastern was the subject of an NCAA video that featured the Shark baseball team's participation in the Miracle League World Series.  NSU players and coaches were on hand to help disabled children bat, throw, and run the bases at Rose G. Price Park in Pembroke Pines.  To watch the video, click here and choose the community engagement video entitled "Miracle League."

Throughout the past year, Sunshine State Conference member institutions were very active in supporting the NCAA Division II Make-A-Wish and community engagement initiatives.  The SSC ranked second among DII conferences with nearly $20,000 raised for the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Council's Make-A-Wish fundraising efforts.
