Saint Leo's Michelle Nogueras, Rollins' Phoebe Corder, and Lynn's Christie Schade have been named Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the period ending September 28.
![]() | OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Saint Leo junior setter Michelle Nogueras (Cayey, P.R.) had an outstanding all-around performance as the Lions went 5-0 with a conference win and four regional victories. Nogueras averaged 2.2 kills, 8.9 assists, 3.1 digs, and 0.5 aces and blocks per set. She posted a solid .452 hitting percentage. She concluded the week with a pair of triple-doubles against Alabama-Huntsville and Valdosta State. In a four-set win over UAH, Nogueras tallied 10 kills, 35 assists, and 10 digs. In just three sets versus VSU, she notched 12 kills, 29 assists, and 11 digs. Nogueras’ play at setter helped the Lions record an impressive .302 team hitting percentage on the week. |
![]() | DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Rollins freshman libero Phoebe Corder (Buda, Texas) helped the Tars to a 4-1 record on the week, including four regional victories. Posting 4.8 digs per set, Corder tallied double-figure digs in each match, including a week-high 21 digs in a three-set win over Montevallo. She had 19 digs in a four-set win over West Georgia, 15 digs in a four-set victory versus Alabama-Huntsville, and 12 digs in a three-set win against Valdosta State. She also amassed 19 digs in a loss to No. 7 Florida Southern. Her efforts helped limit Rollins’ opponents to a .165 hitting percentage. |
![]() | DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Lynn senior Christie Schade (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) led the Fighting Knights to a 4-0 mark against regional opponents, averaging 4.8 digs per set. Schade racked up 26 digs in a four-set win over Montevallo and had 14 digs in wins over West Georgia and Alabama-Huntsville. She had eight digs in a three-set win over Valdosta State. Schade’s defensive savvy helped limit Lynn’s opponents to a .062 hitting percentage. |
