SLU's Calderon-Reyes and Bletso Tabbed Volleyball Players of the Week

Saint Leo's Emily Calderon-Reyes and Danielle Bletso have been named Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the period ending October 18.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK --  Saint Leo junior OH Emily Calderon-Reyes (Caguas, P.R.) led the No. 14 Lions to a pair of in-region victories, averaging 4.8 kills and 2.7 digs per set.  She notched a .453 attack percentage and also posted 0.5 aces, 0.5 blocks, and 0.3 assists per set.  In a three-set sweep against No. 24 West Florida, Calderon-Reyes had double-double with 17 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and one service ace.  She hit .483 in the match.  In a sweep against Harding, she recorded 12 kills, six digs, one block, two assists, and two service aces while hitting at a .417 clip.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Saint Leo sophomore MB Danielle Bletso (Boardman, Ohio) averaged 2.00 blocks per frame to lead the Saint Leo defense in a pair of regional wins.  Bletso posted four blocks in a three-set win over No. 24 West Florida.  She then amassed eight blocks, as well as two digs, in a three-set sweep  over Harding.  Bletso’s presence at the net helped limit the Lions’ opponents to a .166 hitting percentage for the week.
