Panthers, Slice of Life Partner Once Again to Raise Money for Wishes
MELBOURNE, Fla. (Athletic News) – As part of the Florida Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s (SAAC) 2010-11 initiative to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, the Panthers and Slice of Life Pizza Cafe at 3150 S. Babcock St. invite you to join them for “Wish Wednesday.”
Today, and every other Wednesday throughout the 2010 fall semester and 2011 spring semester, for every patron who eats at the Slice of Life throughout the day, the owner will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida in Florida Tech’s effort to grant a wish to a Central Florida child with a life-threatening illness. In order to grant a wish, the SAAC’s goal is to raise $7,000 throughout the 2010-11 school year.
Slice of Life Pizza Cafe, located on Babcock St., just behind Florida Tech’s Clemente Center, is a central hub of activity for students and community members.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From their humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, they’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the United States and its territories every 40 minutes.
