Nova Southeastern claimed the women’s division of the 2007-08 Mayors’ Cup all-sports trophy, and Florida Southern emerged victorious in the men’s division.
First presented following the 1986-87 academic year, the award has traditionally been sponsored by the mayors of the nine communities in which SSC institutions are located.
In the men’s division, points are awarded based on final conference standing in cross country, soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, and baseball. In the women’s division, points are awarded for final standing in cross country, volleyball, soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, rowing, and softball. In each category, available points depend upon the total number of conference schools that sponsor the particular sport.
