ABOUT:
University of Tampa will host the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Men's and Women's tennis tournaments. The location for the tennis championships will be held at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. Dates for the event will be Thursday, April 28th - Saturday, April 30th.

NCAA Division II Championship Records: Men & Women
NCAA POSTSEASON:
Winners of each tournament will receive automatic qualification to the 2016 NCAA Division II Championships. First and second rounds for the 2016 NCAA Tournaments will be played at non-predetermined sites Saturday, May 7th - Tuesday, May 10th. Finals will take place Wednesday, May 18th - Saturday, May 21st at the Spring Festival in Denver.
2015 SSC CHAMPIONSHIP:
In last year's women's conference tournament, Barry won their sixth straight SSC title, ninth overall, which puts Barry in a second place tie with Lynn. Florida Southern leads the way with 10 conference titles. North Florida collected four when they were SSC members, and Eckerd has one title in the 32-year history of the event. On the men's side, Barry won their fourth straight title and their 12th overall in the 38-year history of the tournament. Rollins leads the way with 18 conference titles, Lynn sits in third with four total, Florida Southern and Central Florida are tied with two each, and North Florida has won one title. SSC NCAA DII NATIONAL CHAMPIONS: Men | Women
Lynn leads the SSC with three women's tennis national titles. Barry is close behind at two, winning the most recent title for a SSC member in 2014. In 2011, Barry defeated Lynn for their first tennis national title in the only All-SSC national championship match. As a member of the SSC, North Florida took home one national title (1994). Barry women fell to No. 1 Armstrong in the 2015 national championship match.
Barry men swept all competition on the way to winning the national title in 2015. The Buccaneers went 26-0 and for a second time in program history went unbeaten to win a national title. Rollins picked up their last national title in 2001 and leads the SSC with four overall. Three national titles for Barry puts them in second. Lynn won the title in 2007. From 2006 to 2015, the SSC has sent a team to eight championship matches, coming away with four titles. |
